A heated match found Athenians preserving a valuable draw (1-1) despite being down to 10 men from the 55th minute. Gabriel Manolache (41') gave a breath for the first half however, an early second-half goal from the opponents led to 1-1, while the red card shown to Nikos Mentakis made things more difficult. Despite the shock, the team showed the much needed altruism and with Priamos Ioannou's leading performance, they escaped from a defeat.
